Some Summer Fun

Sorry but I just realized I was a little behind on these. We have a membership to Thanksgiving Point, so we go to the Farm Country as often as we can. Here are some pictures from one of our visits.

For Pioneer Weekend (July 24) we went to the Days of 47 Rodeo in Salt Lake, then on Saturday we went up to Ogden to the Pioneer Days Rodeo. Didn't get any pix of the Days of 47 Rodeo.... but did of the Pioneer Days Rodeo.

Over this summer we've made it to 5 rodeos, and there is one more the end of October still to go to. He loves going and watching all the ropers, bare back riders, saddle bronchs, and of course the bull riders. Some of the rodeos started later in the evening so it was a little tough for him to stay awake all the way to the bull riders. But he sure has a great time watching all of them.

Tracy Aviary

One day this summer we decided to go check out the Tracy Aviary here in Salt Lake City. All the years I've lived here I have never gone and checked it out. Jared asked me about it one day and said he'd like to see it, so we all decided to go.

Tracy Aviary is one of two free-standing aviaries in the United States. It is over 70 years old and a cultural asset to Salt Lake City

The little man....all ready to go see some birds!

a pair of beautiful Golden Eagles

and a Beautiful Bald Eagle.... or "Papa Eagle" as Chris calls them
He calls my dad "Papa with no hair", and so that's how the Bald Eagle became the Papa Eagle :-)

the next pictures are take by Christopher himself!

Backwords

Ok so I posted the next two posted in reverse, but you still get the idea. We went to the aquarium the first day, then the railroad camp the next day.....I'm still working at the blog thing :-)
The next day we headed up away from the beach, and into the hills above Santa Cruz to go to the Roaring Camp Railroad. Chris was pretty impressed with the train, and was really excited to go for a ride on it. Here are some pix from our fun day there.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

In August Christopher and I took a trip out to California, mainly Santa Cruz and Monterey. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium one of the days we were there. I haven't been back to the aquarium with Chris in a little over 2 years. It was really great to take him there again.

Preschool Level 3 Swim Lessons

Preschool Level 3

Now it's time for preschool level 3. Chris' teacher for this class was Kelly. He didn't like her as much as Dallin, but he was still good for her and did all the stuff he was supposed to do.

He had to "dive" down and get these little toys off the bottom of the pool, they called it "scuba diving"

Getting ready to jump in

Hanging at the side of the pool. This part was too deep for them to reach the bottom and this is where they would jump into the water.

Swimming to his teacher!

Jumping off the side to his teacher, then swimming back to the wall

Passed Preschool Level 3!!! Next summer I think we will do Preschool level 3 again for a refresher class, then he can move to Level 1!!
