Big Cottonwood Canyon

Chris and I took a trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon. One of the canyons up from Salt Lake City. We wanted to go for a hike and see what fall colors we could see up there. We had a great time going for a little walk around Silver Lake.

Eeewww... he found some moss

a hug for mom.... or maybe a choke hold

showing some leg :-)
I think he was really playing with making shadows

After our walk around Silver Lake we took a drive over Guardsman pass into Park City

thats the dirt road we drove on

finally found some oranges!

Chris started dancing as we were walking along the trail. At first he said it was his "sexy booty dance".... but I think it ended up being more of a "watching his shadow" dance.

Fall Colors

We took a little drive up Beaver mountain to go and see some of the fall colors. There was mostly the yellow aspens, and they were very beautiful!

Some Summer Fun

Sorry but I just realized I was a little behind on these. We have a membership to Thanksgiving Point, so we go to the Farm Country as often as we can. Here are some pictures from one of our visits.

For Pioneer Weekend (July 24) we went to the Days of 47 Rodeo in Salt Lake, then on Saturday we went up to Ogden to the Pioneer Days Rodeo. Didn't get any pix of the Days of 47 Rodeo.... but did of the Pioneer Days Rodeo.

"Cheese"

a close up of one of the big old bulls

Over this summer we've made it to 5 rodeos, and there is one more the end of October still to go to. He loves going and watching all the ropers, bare back riders, saddle bronchs, and of course the bull riders. Some of the rodeos started later in the evening so it was a little tough for him to stay awake all the way to the bull riders. But he sure has a great time watching all of them.

Tracy Aviary

One day this summer we decided to go check out the Tracy Aviary here in Salt Lake City. All the years I've lived here I have never gone and checked it out. Jared asked me about it one day and said he'd like to see it, so we all decided to go.

Tracy Aviary is one of two free-standing aviaries in the United States. It is over 70 years old and a cultural asset to Salt Lake City

The little man....all ready to go see some birds!

a pair of beautiful Golden Eagles

and a Beautiful Bald Eagle.... or "Papa Eagle" as Chris calls them
He calls my dad "Papa with no hair", and so that's how the Bald Eagle became the Papa Eagle :-)

the next pictures are take by Christopher himself!
He's turning into a little photographer
