Trip to the Desert

We needed a little get away... so out to the West Desert to the Bates' Homestead we went.... we always have such a great time out there!

MM MM.... crawdads!....he didn't really eat it. It was dead, but it really freaked him out when I first showed it to him. He wouldn't get close to it until Caitlin held it for him, he pretended to be going to eat it so I could take this picture.

We got a new automatic pigeon thrower, and had to try it out this weekend!

Jared took us out to shoot clay pigeons on New Years Eve. I've never been and have really been wanting to try it out....so we finally got the chance to go.

Jared got Chris a "hunting" jacket too. He talks that he wants to go hunting....I'm not totally sure he's up for it, but we'll keep introducing him to aspects of it, and we'll see how he does.

I actually hit a good number of pigeons. I didn't really think I'd be able to hit many, if any. I enjoyed it! I can't wait to go again. Jared even went and got us an automatic pigeon thrower so that Chris can operate more of it. This one had to be reloaded each time and Chris couldn't pull the throwing arm back.... I'm really excited to try the new one out!

We had another great Christmas! I had the day off again (only the 2nd Christmas off in the last 10 years), and Jared was able to be home too. We pretty much just relaxed and enjoyed the day together. Jared got me a Cricut, with a laminator and binder, and a food saver too. I've had the chance to use my food saver, but haven't tried out my cricut yet.....but don't worry, I'm sure I'll get some good use out of it.
