Meeting a Champion

Ever since we started taking Chris to rodeos, he's been a fan of Cody Wright, a 2 time World Champion Saddle Bronc rider from Milford, Utah. Well, the day after the 2011 National Finals Rodeo, we were in Cedar City and we ran into none other than Cody Wright, at a gas station of all places. I told Chris that Cody Wright was there and he got very excited. I dug up the courage and took Chris over to meet Cody. Cody was so kind and was more than happy to meet Chris and then he was cool enough to let us get a picture with him. After meeting Cody, we went inside the gas station to get some snacks and as we were leaving we walked past Cody and his family. Cody even said good bye to Chris and told him it was nice to meet him. What a great guy! He was really great to us, and it was so neat to get to meet him. I think he has a few fans for life now!

2010 Wilderness Circuit Finals

We weren't able to get any good pictures of Cody at the 2011 Wilderness Circuit Finals. We have been lucky enough to get tickets on the front row so Chris was excited and hoped to get a high five from Cody as he walked by. Unfortunately, Cody never ended up on our side of the arena. However, Cody had, I think, 4 other brothers also competing that night. One of his brothers, Alex, happened to end up on our side of the arena. As he walked past us, Chris hollered "Alex!", and held his hand out, and Alex was a great sport and reached up and gave Chris a high five. It made Chris' night! He was thrilled to get a high five from a Wright brother. These guys are some great riders, and even better sports!
